A Portrait of a Lady....

Well, I left you with some portraits of gentlemen, so it seems fitting that I return with a post on the portrayal of ladies in art. I have not annotated the name of each subject, but I am sure that they will appeal to your senses all the same...

    7th & 10th - by Sargent?
    13th - Marie Antoinette, by J-B Gautier Dagoty
    14th - Mdm de Pompadour, by Francois Boucher.

    and the second last one Cate Blanchette as Queen Elizabeth I, and the last one a montage of Queen Elizabeth II in Monroe pose.

  4. The 7th painting is of Princess Marthe-Lucile Bibesco. It was painted by Giovanni Boldini in 1911. Oil on canvas. 183 × 120 cm. Private collection.
