Spring is here...

The first day of spring has arrived for all of us down under and the daffodils are starting to open...

I wandered lonely as a cloud
that floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host of golden Daffodils
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze...

- William Wordsworth.

  1. I realise that spring weather doesn't necessarily emerge on the 1st of September, just because the calendar SAYS it is spring. It is the 1/9 here in Melbourne, yet it only got to 16c today :(

But daffodils make the world a happier place. All flowers do, but there is something uniquely optimistic and spring-like about daffs.

  2. Well, we both like Sarah and
jeremy, and daffodills. You have really some big undertaking with this place, hats off to you.
wishing you good luck and happiness. Welcome to spring.

  4. This post has me hankering for a New Zealand Spring! The smell of Jonquils, Jasmine and Daphne....*sigh*. It is already warming up here which gives me a sense of dread to be honest. Summer comes too early, is very hot and stays far too long. My long-term plan (budget permitting) is to spend my Winters here on the Gold Coast and my Spring/Summers back home.
    Have a great day David:o)
