Boats...
Welcome to the 3rd post in the Manly March pictorial series - Boats and Boating. I don't know whether it is just New Zealand being an isolated island nation, or whether it is a global phenomenon, but boats like cars are another bastion of masculinity (and source for boasting for the less well mannered).
with palatial interiors...
Some are quite futuristic...
You could always own this super yacht with matching super car for a cool $35M...
Then there are the more traditional, classic yachts...
Sailing a yacht is not like riding as bike - you do forget a lot. I recall how after a few too many cocktails whilst on holiday in the tropics I boasted to Peter how well I could sail a yacht (after all, I was in the Sea Scouts). So, then having procured a yacht I attempted to impress him with my nautical prowess. Long (very embarrassing) story cut short - after cash was exchanged to both the owner of the yacht and also to the owner of the vessel into which we collided, I stuck to my long islands on the beach.
I do think, however, I could manage a speed boat, and it is a retirement dream of mine to own a Riva...

I don't know about masculine speed and mechanics, but there is always something serene about a beach scene with boats in a marina. Or boats sailing gently, not racing. Schools of art like the Newlyn School made a fortune, focusing on beaches, boats, fishermen etc - very evocative.
